And more and more, native English speakers have been coming to me to improve their public speaking. But along with my passion for my work come endless thoughts and questions: what are best practices for teaching pronunciation and public speaking, how can we encourage clients/students to absorb the music of the English language, how fixed do we get in our ideas about what’s right or wrong, how do we deal with issues of practice, how do we deal with the challenge of language and even pronunciation that sometimes mutate even as we try to find some rule to apply, what’s the role of accent management in this multicultural world… The list goes on and on … in random order …
